i've had great experience w/ crumplers line of messenger bags -- looking to get a backpack version of my messenger bag. the messenger bag is solid several large pockets, but more difficult to organize stuff. the 'salary sacrifice' is the crumpler backback i'm looking at -- well organized for both photogs and urban warriors.

The Kata R103 is a much more rugged backpack with similar weight ad carrying capacity (can carry Macbook Pro, large DSLR, 3-4 lenses, flash, and a bunch of accessories), and is very comfortable to wear, though they too are now made in China and no longer in Israel.
