I've tried a few of the make-your-own ringtone sites. I guess they are all somewhat similar but the one I like is DJ Nitrogen - it's not free (well, the first ringtone is) but it's lower cost than the carriers and has no ads. If I get the copyright thing correctly, this is all within the fair use rules of music I already own. I think I've given Verizon enough of my money.
