With Sprint much better deals can be had, just ask a rep for SERO plans. They include unlimited text and unlimited data.
500 mins - $30/mo
1250 mins - $50/mo
2500 mins - $100/mo

You can even get corporate/student discounts on top of this price. I currently have a moto q and centro and pay less than $55 after taxes with two 500 min plans!!

1) Blackberry plans are more expensive because RIM gets a piece of the action from most providers. Also, there's a perception that Blackberrys are more "serious", so people are willing to pay a little more for the status. Idiots.

2) We are, but Helio's an MVNO, they don't have a dedicated network, nor do they have business plans or even a real smartphone; the Ocean is a kickass piece of hardware, and the Office/Exchange integration rocks, but let's be honest, it's not really a smartphone. Not yet. But we hear they have plans.

I still can't find a plan better than my T-Mobile 1500 anytime minutes with unlimited data for $68 per month including taxes, fees and surcharges. I use the Bluetooth of my SDA as a modem for my Fujitsu 1510 and it's my main link to the outside data world. The SDA gives me nationwide yellow pages with google maps. I presume this will work world wide in the near future. Email (Gmail) is even easier than using my laptop. The only shortcoming is lack of GPS functionality in this candy bar phone. If T-Mobile / HTK / Google come out with a Google phone with GPS, I'll be the first to get one - if I'm lucky.

If you're on T-mo and want something like the Wing, just spring a little extra coin for a Tilt or 8825, unlocked. Both are identical in form factor but are faster phones with updated OSes and since they're GSM, of course they'll work on T-mo.
