Initially i thought Blu-ray would win hands down (im not a sony fan boy...far from it) but i now believe HD-DVD has a good chance of winning the crown. I have noticed from retail shops more and more titles appearing on HD-DVD including older flims, but on Blu-ray all yiu seem to get is Spierman and Harry Potter. Even if you go to Tesco the shelf-space taken up by Blu-ray titles has dwindled down, while the space taken by HD-DVD has been constant or grown slightly. While there are more studios backing Blu-ray, HD-DVD has a huge studio backing it - Universal Studios which is why we are seeing so many titles now appearing on HD-DVD. HD-DVD films need to drop in price to match that of normal DVDs, only then will it become the mainstream format. Most folk would not like to pay £23 for a film, knowing they could buy it on normal DVD for almost half that.
