The LG Voyager’s firmware has been upgraded. Know what doesn’t need to be upgraded? The girl’s pony from the Verizon commercials. I wonder how she’s doing with her new pony, besides being an ungrateful brat that wants a cell phone instead of a pony. She probably asked for both and then just started pouting when she only got a pony. So the pony bites and you’re obviously getting too old for a pony, who the hell cares? You have your own pony!
Anyway, the firmware improves battery life, Bluetooth connections, and includes some enhancements to the web browser as well as fixing a bunch of little glitches here and there. Has anyone upgraded this phone and would you care to share your experience with the rest of the group? If you want to upgrade your phone, you’ll have to take it to your neighborhood Verizon location. Tell them Doug from CrunchGear sent you — that oughta be interesting.

i upgraded my phone. it took about a half hour. I just dropped it off ran errands, came back and picked it up. It was quick and easy. I am happy with the improvements. The browser improvements are very nice. The ESPN MVP Alerts now work with the touch screen. The answer button is much bigger and placed in a better spot. Once you make a call out the number pad is much more accessible. You don’t have to press the unlock key multiple times. The auto lock feature works a little better. Overall, it didn’t seem like much but the little things make all the difference in the world. I’m happy with the update. Although, I still think you should be able to customize the shortcuts!
i could customize the shortcuts just go again the software you got was new at that time but they got a new one now or just go to youtube and put (LG VOYAGER UPDATE) and it will show a video

I went yesterday and they were shocked that I knew about the upgrade before they did. The CSR I talked to said they just got the upgrade that day. At first, he didn’t even think there was one. But, I asked him to check.
IMHO, the fact that customers are having to tell CSRs about an upgrade is a symptom of the larger missed opportunity by Verizon to maintain a conversation with their customers. But what do I know? :)
What are the browser improvements?
The browser improvements consist of more short cut keys at the bottom. Across the bottom is a back arrow, refresh, home, zoom, favorites, www, and menu. Its a nice touch. Also, when using the internal screen to view the web, a mouse like arrow points to where you are. Its a great upgrade I think to the web experience.

noo dont get a venus its a music phone it dosnt hav internet quality as good as the voyager
hey i will be getting a voyager in the next week off of amazon….its only $200 minus $30 if you have a visa. i was going to buy it in the store but they sed it will be $400, and i was like no way. but is there anything wronge with it. like is it everything you would want, is it a rip off and should i get a vinus…..idk…but if you could help me please….
This is my 2nd Voyager…the first had the V03 version and this one has the V05. So much for an upgrade….I can’t even get pass the huge dialing font issue to do much of anything else on this phone. Ugh!
Just got back from the local Verizon store where Tech Support said that Verizon has asked them to hold off on doing any firmware updates due to some issues being discovered after the firmware updates, when asked if Verizon will notify customers when the issues have been fixed, she did not know.
I ran into the same issue. It seems (according to tech support) that bluetooth stereo will not work with VZ music unless you have version 7 code. I was told version 7 has proven to be so buggy that they are not upgrading to it.
This really sucks because im dying to use bluetooth stereo.
ive got the update and i must say its great !!! but do u think theyll make a youtube update?? i hope so then it will truly be better than the iphone
i have the update too and upgraded to verizon’s v pack (15 a month for unlimited data use) and youtube is accessible… i changed my homepage to youtube, its really great
is it like good? cuz i hope that they make youtube like the iphones youtube that will truly seal the deal with me youtube was a big part of the internet and for future updates i hope they make flash available wouldnt that be awesome
All in all I think this is a good phone.. The software upgrades make it better, but the one thing that I would still like to see on this phone is LOUDER RINGTONES……. How can someone call this a media phone etc when the ringtones are barely audible? I have owned many smaller phones and ones with just a single speaker and they BLOW this one away as far as the volume issue is concerned. Voyager is a good phone, but for its size and it kinda being a head turner device, it definitely needs to be LOUDER

I’ve been using a Voyager for over a year now. What a crap product. The browser sucks @#%% through a straw. Page rendering is ok, but just try to type a name and password into an internet form and watch it bugger you from behind.
