Could not agree more. The Wire is the single best show on Television. You must, however, watch from Season 1.

Yeah, baby! New Wire episodes in January.
I wouldn’t give the box set as a gift though. Too depressing a series.

Liked The Wire… but loved The Shield and Deadwood. Forest Whitaker season of The Shield (2006-2007) was awesome.
