Society reaches a new low as the list of the top ten downloaded ringtones of 2007 on the AT&T network reads like a who’s who of smelly, no-talent ass-music. The only thing worse than this list is the fact that people paid $2.49 each to download these. This would be the iTunes playlist in the first ring of hell for me.
1. Shop Boyz – "Party Like a Rockstar"
2. Mims – "This Is Why I’m Hot"
3. Soulja Boy – "Crank That (Soulja Boy)"
4. Nickelback – "Rockstar"
5. Akon – "Don’t Matter"
6. T-Pain – "Buy You A Drank (Shawty Snappin)"
7. Hurricane Chris – "A Bay Bay"
8. Sean Kingston – "Beautiful Girls"
9. Huey – "Pop, Lock & Drop It"
10. Fergie – "Big Girls Don’t Cry"
John Biggs said it best when he remarked, "70% of that list is some of the worst music ever," although I would change 70 to a much higher number.
As always, I welcome your comments.
‘Party Like A Rockstar’ Top AT&T Ringtone For 2007 [Informationweek]

I agree. That SUCKS!
I have, by far, the best ring tone ever: I just called to say I love you by Stevie Wonder.
Yeah, I have to wonder why Lamb of God, Machine Head and Opeth aren’t better represented in the ringtone market. What’s wrong with people? Why do they listen to such pussy-ass music?
i think i just threw up a little
Ok Crunchgear. So what would your top 10 be?
I’m not speaking for CG, but find my list one line below this text.
1. Stevie Wonder “I just called to say I love you”
2. Raffi “Banana Phone”
3. Kelis “Milkshake song”
4. Batman Theme (adam west TV version)
5. Greatest American Hero theme
6. David Bowie “Changes”
7. Leeni “8 Bit Thriller”
9 Saved by the bell theme
10. That alkaline trio song that says “I called you twice, I’ve spent two hellish nights sitting around waiting for your call”
1. She Bangs – Ricky Martin
2. Miami – Will Smith
3. The one by P. Diddy where he ripped off the beat from another popular song
4. Kokomo – Beach Boys
5. Nookie – Limp Bizkit
6. My Humps – Black Eyed Peas
7. Achy, Breaky Heart – Billy Ray Cyrus
8. Sometimes When We Touch – Dan Hill
9. Make Em Say Ugh – Master P
10. Butterfly – Crazy Town
Good call Doug! Pretty much every song on that list makes my ears bleed. Of course for $2.50 a pop it’s not like the brightest people in the world are the ones buying ring tones.
The set of people with good musical taste and the set of people who’d pay $2.49 to download a ringtone from the AT&T Media Mall don’t intersect.
$2.50 each, combined with amazing intellect *sarcasm* do we hear calling for a business plan for “CrunchTones?”
Watchout CG, Nickelback is Canadian… take that back, QUICK!
Doug, that sounds like the top 10 list from 8 years ago, haha. Livin’ in the past my friend, livin’ in the past.
And the music industry wonders why it’s losing money. The music sucks. Unlike tech, there is no innovation, nothing shiny new and catchy.
TeH music SUCKS truckerballs.
Best ringtone: a bell. “ding” Just one ding. That’s my top 10 list.
Ringtones are for people who have to have cells because they are important, but they leave it on their desk to ring and never be answered. Ya know the people who talk about their last colonoscopy loudly on the bus.
stop hiding you dicks a year and half and your still not there lol
yeah nice opinion apparently ur out number like 10 million to one… just because they did work u dont gotta rag on them… the music is good has good ringtone lines
I always liked nickelback but this is just awesome!
