bubble Ah, memorable quotes. "Where’s the beef?" Brilliant. "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall." Powerful. "Bus driver, move that bus." Silly.

The Yale Book of Quotations has published its list of the ten most memorable quotes from the past year. Numbers ten through five include a bunch of stuff from government types, followed by Don Imus’ famous "nappy-headed hos" comment, followed by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad telling us all that there are no gays in Iran.

The second most memorable quote is the long, drawn out, ridiculous Miss Teen America contest answer given by Lauren Upton. And the number one quote of 2007 is…

"DON’T TASE ME, BRO"

That’s right. Yale Book of Quotations editor Fred Shapiro said that the quote by University of Florida student Andrew Meyer just before he got zapped by campus police while protesting at a John Kerry speech was "a symbol of pop culture success," according to Reuters, thanks to how many times it was searched for on Google and how many T-shirts it showed up on.
