Check the calendar, last-minute Christmas shopper. You’ve only four days (if you count today) till D-Day, so here’s a gift that should be easy to find at pretty much any retailer: “Blade Runner (Five-Disc Complete Collector’s Edition).” This is the final, that’s-all-she-wrote version of the cult classic starring Harrison Ford. Director Ridley Scott and some mega fan had complete creative control over the project, so rest assured that this version of the movie is exactly what Scott originally had in mind.

That it’s in HD only adds to the value: $28 for pretty much the best sci-fi movie ever made.

  • I really didn’t want to comment on this post but I want free stuff.

NOW GIVE ME MY DAMN FREE EARBUDS!

  • Everytime I watch Blade Runner I get the urge to eat Ramen noodles.
Hey? Can I get free ear buds too?

  • I’ve heard so much about this. If Adam Savage (you know, from MythBusters) thinks it’s groundbreaking enough to write an article on, I’m on board.

  • The five disc “Complete Collector’s Edition” has been released on both Blu-ray and HD-DVD (as well as standard DVD).

(The final line of the post on first reading suggested that it was only available on HD-DVD.)

  • CrunchGear is a total drag. Your damn e-mails are costing me too much money. I am always buying stuff after reading your articles.

Case in point: Went to Amazon to look for the Blade Runner Ultimate Collection because it comes with a briefcase and some little articles, items in addition to the five DVDs.

Meh… sold out on Amazon and on eBay everyone wants $100+ for it [was only $70 on Amazon, free shipping. So I went to Google and found it at cduniverse.com for $70 shipped.

So because of CrunchGear I put in 1/2 hour looking for this damn set at the best price and entering all my date so to buy it. That half hour could have been spent playing with my, I mean on my, Wii. [Or watching TV, scrubbing the toilet, or something.]

I’m so pissed off I am not gonna spell check this post. I’m outta here.
