According to the Internet, Nikon D90 is coming soon

Attention, Nikon camera nerds: the Nikon D90 (or D80x, perhaps) is likely on it’s way. the camera is similar in features to the D80, save for a few technical upgrades and a larger viewscreen. Look for it at PMA 2008 at the end of January.

The Canon ones look a lot better than the Nikons. They’re a lot smaller, too.
This may have just made me cream my pants a little bit.
I thought things where suppose to shrink with every generation… Nikon seems to be coming out with great but exceedingly larger cameras? What gives?
Uhh, the nikon Dxx line doesnt come with built in grips. Thats not a D90, nor will the D90 look like that.

The pics are clearly photoshopped from the D2X. No way a D80x/D90 would look anything like this (except the Nikon label on top of course.) So stop whining on the size and weight until you see the real camera itself. ;)
That is not a D90. Nikon make too much money from their vertical grips to give them away. Included, it would put the D90 at too high a price point for it’s specs.
The D300 doesn’t have a grip included.
The photo is a composite from 2005 speculating on an upscale successor to the D70, which later became the D200. It was never a real camera. How could anyone take that tiny LCD seriously. The best guesses I have heard is that the D90 will be a prosumerized D300, just as the D80 was mostly a D200 under the skin. My bet is that the body will be very close to the D80, but with 3″ LCD, preview, and the d300 sensor with anti-dusting.
Don’t try to fool anyone with your composite. D90 (if ever there’s gonna be one) would be mind-blowing. Who in the right mind will go retro-digital? To all Nikon fans, keep waiting while enjoy your D70/70s/80/40/40x/80/60/200/2X/1H/300 and of course the D3. Some still have FM2 and 90X and F3.
Imagine a world without Nikon. Dull.
