When I write code for software my company sells, I don’t get residuals everytime someone buys the software for the rest of my life even after leaving the company. This despite the fact my unique code makes up the underpinnings of said software.

Why in the hell should writers, who are being paid to write someone for a company in a work for hire situation, be paid perpetually for their services?

Seriously, Writers make enough, If they can afford to be away from work this long I don’t know what there problem is. Maybe its time they wrote better work maybe the studios wouldn’t mind paying them more. I agree Seth Mcfarland can’t write or voice act. Both of his shows are just terrible. Its not like the studios aren’t going to find other writers to make stories, everyone has a story to tell so there is plenty of ways to get people to write new stories.

You know what bothers me about all of this press? The fact that we are all crying “boo-hoo” for the writers. Screw them. They make residuals from every rerun that airs during their strike. You know who doesn’t make jack? The crew. Think about their Christmas season! No money. No work. No hope of work in the foreseeable future. And here we are whining about the writers and their poor terrible lives. They should have never let this get by them in the first place.

Well, I did use hulu and it sucks. I got an invite from one of the mass invites about a week ago (got mine from gigaom). The service is absolutely horrible, its like the kid trying too hard to be cool and yet everyone still knows they are not.

This service is not worth breaking the picket lines.
