As mentioned previously, the downloader will automatically add the songs you download to iTunes. It's always done that on my Mac. Also, you don't have to use the Amazon downloader at all, unless you plan to buy albums. If you want to buy single songs, you can do that without using the downloader. The downloader will not work through my firewall at work.

It's interesting that it allowed you to download an MP3 twice. I wonder if they've changed that? I purchased and downloaded some MP3s when the store first opened but the downloads errored out because I was trying to use the downloader (that's how I found out it would not work through the corporate firewall). When I wanted to try downloading the songs again directly, I had to contact Amazon customer service to enable it.

In Preferences, check the box that says Add tracks to iTunes.

Then, build a smart playlist to display recent addtions to your Library. Call it Amazon Purchases or Recents or whatever and you'll be all set.

Yeah, as Andrew said, the Amazon downloader will automatically copy your songs to iTunes. You must have turned that feature off somehow.

check your downloader settings. I'm not at my home computer (os x), but my downloads are copied into iTunes automatically (they then exist in an "Amazon" downloads folder and iTunes).
