if this is actually true, i’ve just lost my faith for the PS3

Second, the game couldn’t ‘even’ fit on a dual-layer Blu-Ray, because seems our humble master, Hideo Kojima is an audiofreak, and set the game audio type to Lossless. Lossless takes almost, something 10 times more space than a 320 kbps MP3. If you look at ALL those codex calls you can make, and all the freaking big-ass cutscenes they have, you can just THINK how much that takes. It would fit on 2 DL-dvds with ease, and even with bad-ass packing, it could even fit on one. And third, ‘Richard’ (if you are human, seemingly you haven’t taken math, nor internet usage classes [just kidding]) Sony bought Metal Gear Solid’s exclusivity deal for 6 months. MGS made 3 million dollars in 2 weeks, Halo 3 almost made that in one day. Hideo Kojima sees they don’t get enough, and if they want more money, they WILL release it as a multi-platform. And I swear to god, if they make one for the 360, their sales will be more than doubled. I don’t need to worry about it, since my friend pre-ordered it, and I can play it, and I will buy a PS3 in Christmas ‘08, but for all the other 360’s out there. :D And you STILL can’t have Gears of War 2. But, *sniff* we don’t have God of War and Kingdom Hearts. :( Anyway, there is always possibility, and show me, where does he say the 360 “can’t handle” MGS 4. Tone the graphics a little bit down, who cares. Atleast we, Microsofnions (MS minions a.k.a 360 fanboys) play games for their gameplay, not graphics) Oh, and Killzone 2 is a pointless hype-bomb like Haze was. First off, maybe you should think logically. 6*9 may equal 54, but I have never heard of anyone shipping out a DVD broken into 3rds, noob.

Thirdly, it is just an outright lie to say that they have to put a game on a Blu-Ray 4 times. Where do you get this garbage? I feel like I am dealing with a creationist.

Fourthly, there is a lot of high quality audio on the disc, but to say that you could fit the entire game on one DL-DVD if you compressed it is a completely unfounded statement. Show me. Show me the stats that show how much space the audio specifically takes up on the MGS4 disc and then show me the amount of space you would save with the appropriate compression algorithm. Oh, you don’t have access to those exact figures? Then everything that you have said is pure speculation and you should label it as such.

Fifthly, Metal Gear is a PS3 exclusive. Sony did not just purchase exsclusivity for 6 months. Again, where did you get this garbage? Maybe YOU should learn to do a little bit of research first. Everything out there that has been released by Sony or Konami says that this is a permanent exsclusive. Period. Show me evidence to the contrary.

Sixly, are you high or just incredibly stupid? MGS4 made 3 million in 2 weeks? No, it SOLD 3 MILLION COPIES. Even if you don’t account for the collectors editions that works out (see if you can follow me) 3,000,000 * 60 = $180,000,000 . Of course Halo sold more, XBox had a much larger install base at that time (it is loosing its lead currently).

Seventhly, watch these ( http://media.ps3.ign.com/media/714/714044/vids_1.html ) Hideo Kojima interviews. In them he says specifically that he had to push the PS3 to the limit in order to get what he envisioned out of the game. PS3 is more powerful than the XBox360 (GPU, CPU) so it is safe to say that he would have to compromise his vision to get it on the XBox, and that is not something he is known to do.

Lastly, to say that 360 players play games for gameplay and PS3 players play for graphics is one of the most idiotic characterizations that I have ever read. I am a PS3 owner and I play for gameplay, so therefore your entire premise is proved false immediately. So you have played Killzone 2? You know all about it ehh? I doubt it. Haze was a hype bomb, but so was Gears of War (terrible controls and gameflow) but that doesn’t have anything to do with all the other titles on a console.

phffm. What do you say for Killzone 2? Did you really like Killzone 1 and it’s gameplay? Why is it so anticipated? Because Sony showed a video, and that game had super graphics. First of all, assclown, not all PS3 games do an install first. It is preferable to do an install instead of reading data off the disc because it is ALWAYS faster reading from a hard drive compared to an optical drive.

The 360 cannot handle the texture morphing on Snake’s octocamo, which is a primary focus of the game.

i’ll say this mgs4 is one of the top 5 games i’ll buy for my ps3….. if my boyz r playin it on the xbox i’ll flip, i bought my ps3 in spite of my 3 ring encounter for the 4th time…… come on sony, all else i get is little big planet, and killzone 2!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. I’d love to see the comparision.

it will come out for the 360, the only reeason people are saying it wont is because the hd disc is not bigger the 50gb on adual layer burn, however, there are just goin to do wat they did in the first gave put it on two discs, sorted.

Konami has quashed this rumor many many times, including statements made directly by Kojima himself.

MGS4 will NOT, I repeat, will NOT be coming out for XBox 360.

I understand the release for the ps3 first, since it has been a sony franchise but oh PLEASE release it later on.
Game looks amazing and ratings seem to stick with that format.

i agree with peter pan, and where is this fact that u stated that the 360 hasnt got the power to run the game, the ps3 and the 360 have basiclly the same processor as they where designed by the same architect they where just bought from the different companies. and the 50gh game can be put n to 2 unformatted hddvd, since they are unformatted they can be read with a normall lazer but hold 30gb each. oh and before i forget i believe microsoft are at the moment using sale figures to sway them into brining it out forthe 360 (fact), this was mentioned at a games meeting held in the microsoft building to the american press.

Secondly, Jody, you are as FAR off as you could be. They are NOT EVEN CLOSE to the same CPU. The Cell Proc (PS3) is an 8 core CPU developed by IBM specially for the PS3. The CPU in the XBox is a modded 3 core Xenon processor by Intel. Get your facts straight. Secondly XBox doesn’t use HD-DVD, it uses DVD (Dual Layer usually). The HD-DVD addon for XBOX was for movies, and either way it is an add on AND HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED. They are not bringing it out for 360. Period. Drop it.

By the way, HD-DVD CANNOT be read by a regular laser. Get your facts straight, what a joke.

Well……..let me just say that only reason i’m gettin a ps3 is for this game and god of war……oh yeah blue-ray of course. Well who cares if it comes out or not. Xbox 360 has bioshock, gears of war, halo, mass effect, ninja gaiden 2(for now) and as online goes..pretty good. Don’t get me wrong ps3……..well it has msg4 and final fantasy is gonna come out soon…..I guess RFoM also. But either way as long as u have a job and u can come up with money to spend yeah why not right? its just funny reading all this xbox vs playstation peeps when at the end they had them both or gonna end up having both. Your spelling and grammer is atrocious, I personally blame the schools. Personally I hated Bioshock (on PC), Gears of War was a joke (controls sucked, environment interaction sucked), never played Mass Effect, and I hate Halo (talk about an overrated series) with a passion.

Its not *all* about the money, but even if it was there is no reason to go to XBox. The money and time it would take to reverse engineer the game, lower the graphic and physics quality to the point where it could run on XBox would take too much time and money. Not to mention they would have to eat the costs of shipping out 6 DL-DVDs to hold the game.
