Well I AM excited about these new versions. My current Philips 8gb GoGear has yet to let me down, once. Compare that to the tempramental little s**t they call "Zen". I had an 8gb version of that. It struggled with the apparently too technologically advanced task they call "playing an mp3 file". Every single time I tried to play this one podcast, the Zen froze. Couldn't be shut dowm, or retarted - not even a hard reset did anything. So I had to wait for the battery to drain away overnight and then charge it up again the next morning. After this happening 4 times with the exact same file I took it back for a refund. And where did I get this dodgy file. Piratebay ? eMule ? Some other virus infested source ? Zencast.com. Zen's don't even shut down the screen by default while you're playing a long track, say a half hour episode of Star Wars, so I can't see them lasting too long even if some people's do decide to function properly. Bought the massive screened GoGear and never looked back. Beautiful piece of machinery.
