Samsung just dropped a ton of digital cameras and here they all are. The S-series includes two entry-level models, the 7.2-megapixel S760 and 8.1-megapixel S860. Both feature a 3x optical zoom, Samsung SDH lens and Digital Image Stabilization as well as face detection and self portrait mode. Also featured is a special effects button, “E”, that lets you resize, rotate, adjust brightness, contrast and saturation levels, red eye fixin’, and the ability to change color schemes. Movies are shot in 320×240 or 640×480 at 30fps in AVI.
The S860 retails for $179 and the S760 is $169. They’ll both be available this month.
The NV-series also added two new models with a 8.1-megapixel NV30 and 10-megapixel NV40 with Smart Touch UI and DRIM engine image processor, which means it’s fast and image quality is good. Both have 3x optical zoom Schneider lenses with a combo of optical image stabilization and digital image stabilization. An added feature is a secondary Photo Style Selector dial allowing you to add effects from seven different color profiles, including Soft, Vivid, Forest, Retro, Cool, Calm and Classic.
They’re both encased in brushed black, stainless steel with a 2.5-inch LCD and ISO up to 3200. Video is VGA resolution with a max of 30fps. The NV30 is $279 and comes out next month. The NV40 is $329 and rolls out in March.
So there’s another NV, but it does HD ala 720p. The NV24 is a 10-megapixel point and shoot digi that’s the world’s smallest at 3.8-x2.4×0.7-inch. It has 24mm ultra-wide angle and uses H.264 compression. Said ultra-wide angle lens is from Schneider and has 3.6x optical zoom plus it has the DRIM engine, DIS and OIS combo. 2.5-inch LCD and ISO up to 3200 and 14 scene modes. It’s available in March for $349.
THe L-series has three new additions in the form of a 10.1-megapixel L210, 8.1-megapixel L110 and L100 with the same sensor. Each has 3x optical zoom Samsung NV lens with 2.5-inch LCD and most, it not all, the other goodies included on the other cameras.
The L210 is $269 and comes out in March. The L110 will retail for $229 and the L100 will be $199 and both come out next month.
Rounding out the plethora of digis is another NV with PMP features. The NV4 is an 8-megapixel with all the aforementioned goodies. It features an i-movie mode, high-res SVGA MPEG-4 video and editing controls. ISO tops out at 1600 and has a 2.5mm headphone port and external speaker boasting SRS 3D acoustic tech. The retail on this will be $279.
