Linksys’ new interface is probably the most useful I’ve seen in a network peripheral. Each items pops up as a little icon and shows full information including IP address and potential problems. The system also allows unattended updates.

  • This looks like a lot of flash and little function. automatic firmware updates scare me.

    • I saw this at CES this week it was really cool. The Linksys guy show me how easy it was to add or remove un-wanted additions to my network. It also has this language function where you can change the Language from English to 25 different lanaguages. When you change languages you don’t have to re-boot. One really cool thing was when he changed from English to Farsi. All the screens and changed from left to right to right to left. The menu and graphics that were on the left are now on the right.
I agree with you, and Linksy made it possible for the user to select just to be notified of a update, or have it download to you PC and notify when install is ready for you to decide when to update, the 3rd option is download and auto update your network.
I can see allot of people who using this to make it easy to go wireless.
