Portable or mobile means battery life and weight. 2 hours battery life is useless, it can serve just as UPS to protect against brown outs.

Yeah, I'm with you... I don't see a pointer device of any kind. Kinda kills the portability a little if you have to plug in a mouse or trackball.

DVI = nice! But does it output 1080P? And what kind of video is the processor able to push? If it's able to do DivX and such it could be a nice "HTPC" of sorts as well.

The Asus Eee PC is now selling in Canada at "The Source by Circuit City"...what the old "Radio Shack" stores in Canada were converted to. And they have a fairly big retail network. Base price is C$350.

Walmart (whom I hate and won't shop there anyway) isn't selling the Everex desktops in Canada...but Tiger Direct is...at C$257. If Tiger Direct is selling the Everex notebook in Canada when it comes out...the sales won't be as great as for those of the Eee PC here...and probably slightly higher priced than in the U.S.

I really miss the ultra portable laptops like my old IBM Thinkpad that was 10 inch I think. For the majority of users all they need is a good word processor and internet access. I am glad to see more of these coming to market, although I would have preferred to see this one with SSD or some flash installed over an HD.
