Why do you have what you have and what sorts of goodies are in your camera bag? Are you excited for PMA?

Cameras: Canon 40D SLR, and a Canon S5 IS converted to IR.
Lenses: Sigma 30mm f1.4, Canon 50mm f1.8, Canon 28-135mm kit lens.
Various filters, all the lenses have UV, then I have an NDx4, Grad ND and polarizers. Couple of tripods, extra batteries, etc in a Canon backpack.
I look forward to PMA to see what’s new and who brings what to the table. I am very interested in seeing what Canon will announce as far as either (or both) an XT or 5D model upgrade. Not that I’m in the market for a new toy, but I know a few people who are.
And lenses, I keep my eyes peeled for good lens deals…

Tereasa, did you see this or this?

Peter, yes I did see both of those. Great rebate prices on a lot of that gear… and the Speedlite 580EX II is very tempting.

Might as well throw my gear up.
Pentax K100D Super, Pentax W30, and Canon Elph (don’t remember the model at the moment). Pentax 18-55mm kit lens and I’ll be picking up a 50mm f/1.4 soon. I use rechargeable Energizer batteries or their lithiums, which are incredibly light weight. As far as gear goes, I have a Crumpler bucket that I drop into anyone of my Crumpler messenger bags. But I’m in the market for a real camera bag as my assortment of camera gear will be expanding this year. I think that is it so far.

Nikon D80 and an Olympus C-4000z . . . (the Olympus is in retirement.) For the D80, I have the kit 18-135, and a 50mm f/1.4, both with UV filters. I have an SB-800 speedlight that I typically run in remote commander mode for portraits and product shots, and a handy ML-L3 wireless remote control for those long exposure shots. I picked up a nice Lowepro camera bag with a moisture protection wrap that zips out from the bottom and wraps around the entire case - might be one to check out, Peter. Gotta protect that gear!

I really enjoy taking pictures. I’ve been waiting for a good deal to arise than I’ll go ahead and pick up a DSLR but as of now I’m using a olympus 720 weatherproof/shock resistant 7.2 mega pixel point & shooter. I’ve had great luck with olympus digital cameras and when I do pick up a decent DSLR I plan on keeping that for serious picture taking than I’ll take the compact olympus with me when I go to parties or to the club.

I LOVE my Nikon D40, I won it at a CG contest last Christmas and have been busy taking lots of shots… the automatic focus stopped working months ago but luckily there is a manual option :-) I have begun using the photos I take on my blogs and other works that have been set by delays and problems for a year now but will give everybody an update soon using the BFF system :-)
I am seriously considering purchasing the Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED-IF AF-S VR DX Zoom-Nikkor Lens for it, sure it costs more then the camera is worth but I have been screwed a number of times not being able to get any closer to something while running out of “zoom” with my tripod in hand. The vibration reduction mechanism is also, I hope, going to reduce the need to drag my tripod everywhere as well.
