Ugly looking thing. Can't someone design a simple, inexpensive battery powered car that sells for under $10,000? I want 45 mph and 50 plus miles per charge for in town commuting. Is that too much to ask? An upgraded, street legal, enclosed golf cart would be fine.

Its too small for me. I lead a youth group and am always hauling teens around. I have a Chevy Aveo currently which is a sub-compact. It fits five tightly and has a good bit of trunk space. Anyways, it gets around 35-40 MPG (I think). Works well enough for me. I'd love to get an electric vehicle, but its gotta be reasonable in size and I don't like the three-wheeled proposition. There was a reason three-wheelers went out of style real quick in the ATV world.

Yeah. And admittedly, the thing would take me to work and back (which is an 80 mile round trip for me)
.
(I work in the middle of nowhere)

Yeah, I think we'll see these "commuter cars" first until the range can be extended. Still not too shabby for maybe a young couple or a family that has a car like this for mom or dad to get to work and another "regular" car for everything else.

If I can't drive the 250 miles from Eau Claire, WI to Milwaukee, WI and then leave me enough charge to drive around town for half the weekend - I don't find myself wanting it.

.

When they make an electric car that can do THAT, I'll consider it.
