Are you ready for “Batman R.I.P.”? Oh, hell no!!!

Beginning the epic story that will change the legend of the Dark Knight forever! Everything in Grant Morrison’s groundbreaking run on Batman has been leading to this story, and nothing will ever be the same again.

Who will live? Who will die? Who will be Batman? The answers are sure to shock you in “Batman R.I.P.,” featuring artwork by Tony Daniel and Sandu Florea and covers by Alex Ross.

I’m not so sure I can handle Batman dying. It was bad enough when Superman was killed off and then Captain America last year. I know some heroes have a way of coming back, but if you kill off Bruce Wayne then that story is done and I refuse to pay one cent for the issue where some jackass takes over as the Dark Knight. I was worried enough about whether or not the subsequent movies after The Dark Knight would survive after the Joker’s death due to overdosing, but now I have to stress over the comic.

  • I agree. They broke Wayne’s back, now they want to kill him. Bruce Wayne is Batman, that’s it. Without Bruce Wayne there is no Batman. And I think this is a little too soon after Heath Ledger being found dead with his connection to Batman.

    • I don’t see the connection between Ledger’s death and a storyline that was written months ago??
But i agree with you it’s not a good idea, as a matter of fact there’s already a petition online.

  • Wait you mean in the Superman movie? He didn’t die! Well, he should have, but he ‘died’ like three times and every time he came back even more Superman like. That really pissed me off. If he’s dead, then he’s dead. Don’t bring him back to life again!

    • No, I’m talking about that craptacular movie. I’m referring to his death at the hands of Doomsday back in ‘92. I wonder if that collection is worth anything?

  • Well rumor has it bruce wayne is to die only to be reborn as a NEW NEW GOD since they just killed them all off….over money of course…..but batman can always give up his new godhood and become mortal again and resume being batman…..typical LAME story line……..

    • Read the same rumor, it is also said that the “new” batman would ba jason Todd, the second robin that was killed by the joker…. he didn’t stay dead that long as a matter of fact……….who does in comics :-)

  • I have been a Batman fan for 40 years and have read most of the stories. As long as they are basically going to restart things within the DC universe to set things straight, pretty much the way they were before “Crisis on Infinite Earths” screwed up continuity starting in 1985, Im fine with it. From what you had posted here, there will be a different version of Batman once things get fixed—Does anyone out there remember Batman from 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, early 80s? Every vision was 1000 times better than what goes on now. As long as the different version is A Bruce Wayne—everything will be fine. I cant wait to see Barbara Gordon on her feet again as Batgirl, and forget about the post-crisis Jason Todd–who by the way I voted to kill off. As for “Killing” this version of Batman, has anyone out there read Adventure Comics #462? You know, the issue where the Golden Age Batman was killed off? That was back in 1979–almost 30 years ago, and everything has kept going. Batman will always be the cornerstone of the DC world, together with Superman and Wonder Woman. They can kill off one version, but they will always continue—that is how they generate sales, and interest.

  • For SURE… They will kill the bat, however they will revive him by getting his casket struck by some FREAKISH lightning and and Bruce Wayne/Batman will return immortal and 100-times more powerful than Superman. He’s gonna be the “ULTIMATE” new Batman superhero unmatched!!!!

  • *sigh*

Why must everything I love die?

  • If they kill Bruce off and have a new Batman they better have it be Dick Grayson atleast.

  • IF they absolutely have to kill Batman, I’d rather have no one take up the mantle. Just have Nightwing, Jason, Batgirl, and Robin try to continue to help Gotham in Batman’s place. It could be like the Reign of the Supermen….

  • I am not convinced they are really going to kill Bruce Wayne off. Even if they do, he will brought back inside of a few months if not a year or so. No need to worry.

  • maybe this is the only way to give bruce super powers? they can bring him back to life with super powers & be on par with other hero tat has super powers..

  • I am not sure who these comic books are meant for. For kids, it’s hard to digest that their super hero is weak, that their super hero could die. For adults, why do they even care for watching these comic book based movies or reading these comic books? Isn’t that childish?

Think about it from a kid’s point of view. You are killing the only good there is in their imaginary world. You are conveying that evil wins at the end of it all. Some message! Shame on you!
