Now HP have already started incorporating Penryn Processor’s in their laptops it seems March would be a long time for Apple to wait. I’d go with MacRumor’s date as it seems more plausible. An LED screen would be good, and I’m sure thats in the back of Apples mind. I know people who’ve gone for a 15inch Macbook Pro because they prefer the color representation on the LED’s.

I seriously hope Apple doesn’t wait until March to update their MBP line. I would be happy with just a Penryn Processor update, but my wish list is as follows (in order of importance):

-Penryn update (Increase L2 Cache, processor bump)
-Graphics update (256MB standard, 512MB option)
-Redesign of latch system (magnetic like the Macbooks/Macbook air)
-Slimmer design

I will be severely disappointed if they change the keyboard to that of the Macbook or Macbook Air.

I will not purchase a MBP until apple starts to have blu-ray drives as an option. Multi touch is great news but my big gripe is the new chip set and blu-ray drives. Until this happens I will be forced to wait on the sidelines.

I am now waiting nearly for a year. Mainly to see a MacBook like keyboard for the MacBook Pro. Hope they include the keyboard of the MacBook Air.

Apple hardware updates have always occurred on Tuesdays, and I don’t see a reason for them to deviate now. March 17 is a Monday. Sorry.

Coincidentally, Mac Rumours is reporting that the MacBook Pro will be refreshed this Tuesday (29 Jan) or next Tuesday (5 Feb) http://www.macrumors.com/2008/01/27/early-2008-macbook-pro-whispers/

This rumor is just that…a rumor. This rumor of a st. patricks day release has zero validity, and is weak like clock radio speakers. I would love to see an update, and obviously the update is speculated for release sometime in the very near future. But that’s all this is…speculation, and rumor. Otherwise you would see madd news on this from several other blogging sites dedicated to every little tiny apple rumor.

The 17 inch model needs an upgrade to the LED backlight technology too. Given the prices of other 17 inch laptops a price cut would not hurt.

The Apple logo and OS is only worth so much. The price /performance ratio is getting a bit high for the existing platform.
