what the heck are you talking about?? the app store!?! if you mean ssh the default password is alpine, but if you dont even know how to put apps on your ipod with itunes, then jailbreaking is not for you

Glad to hear it help someone…although this is an old / outdated post. Are you using an iPhone or iPod Touch? What firmware are you using? I recently upgraded my iPod Touch to 2.0 firmware using WINPWN (http://winpwn.com). You should check that out if you are just getting started with jailbreaking. Good luck!

okay so yea. Whenever i first saw this i was like yea right like this is really gonna work i just type in some stuff and magically they are all there but it did! Thanks for doing the great research and coming up with this it worked. I’m book marking this and adding this to my blog. This solved my problem with being sad that these great applications just cant be available on a jailbroken itouch!!!

this is awesome!!! if it comes up with a screen that says last login (then some other stuff) just uninstall it then install it again and keep trying it really works

did you get it to work….im getting the same error and dont know what to do…itunes tells me to restore and it cant seem to be able to do much more…also ibrickr 0.9.1 is telling me to restore using 1.0.2???

I just tried updating from a 1.1.1 and after the restart the phone just shows the “connect to itunes” icon and keeps restarting.

what should i do? no one seems to be responding to this issue? do i need to restore back to 1.1.1 and rejailbreak?

not sure if i still have the 1.1.1 file, does anyoen know where i can download the file?

can i rejailbreak via jailbreak.com or whatever that initial site was?

any help would be great.

Check my response from February 29th, 2008 at 5:32 pm. Have you unlocked your phone before?

If you didn’t install OktoPrep, you might have to start from scratch. Before updating 1.1.2, you should unlock your phone using one of the various methods.

Or, you could go and download ziphone which does all of this for you.

this is all successfully done, but now my iphone is not starting, when i hit the power button an apple logo appears on screen it takes some time on screen then it blinks and again do the same thing but does not start, so plz help me now

Yes it does. When I did it, I got all of the iPhone apps without having to apply any fixes.

pure3d2 – will your method also include the installation of the newly released software for the iTouch (e.g. Google Maps, Mail, etc.)? I posted a reply halfway up this page (search for “flavarite”) indicating this worked for me.

Only thing I’ve noticed lately is the installation of new programs do not work very much any more. Not sure if that’s because I used this method.

I’ve done this 1.1.3 jailbreak method and I do not recommend it for several reasons. First of all, this method breaks the “Nakita” way of signing applications and whatnot.

If you use this method, you will find that some applications you install will not appear on the Springboard. You’ll also encounter the Install script error when installing certain applications (weDict for example).

Instead, I recommend this method:

1. Downgrade to 1.1.1 firmware
2. Go to http://www.jailbreakme.com and install the AppSnapp at the bottom.
3. Go to the installer and install the Community Sources (located under the “Sources” category).
4. Next, go to the “Tweaks 1.1.1″ section and install “OktoPrep.” Press the Home button once you’re done so Springboard will reload.

Update to 1.1.2 firmware using iTunes
Install the 1.1.2 jailbreak from dev team.

If you are unsure of how to do the above 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 jailbreak steps, check out this guide by CrunchGear: http://www.crunchgear.com/2007/11/19/help-key-how-to-jailbreak-your-ipod-touch-with-112/

Once your iPod Touch is on 1.1.2 jailbreak, go to the installer and check the Sources again. If you see the Community Sources there, install it. Next, install the BSD Subsystem (under “System”) and the BSD Subsystem fix (under “Tweaks”, this is optional)

Then go to “All packages” and look for “Official 1.1.3 Updater” (version 3) from dev team. This will take a lot longer than the method described in the article; however, the compatibility will be much better.

i waited for a very long time only to find out at the end,
the ipod cannot connect to devices/natetrue…..
totally sucks
any ideas as to why?

now i have to re-download the whole thing again

For the last 2 weeks i have been trying to jailbreak 1.1.3 firmware on my ipod touch but never got it working so i had to settle for the 1.1.1 jailbreak untill i found this web sight and the first time i tried it it worked great.Thanks Matt for the info it realy helped me…

If you get a whole bunch of error messages (file not found, access denied, etc.) and it stops without downloading the 1.1.3 firmware, reinstall BSD Subsystem and iJailBreakMobile 1.1.1. Restart your iPod Touch, and then try running iJailBreak again.

Hi,

I have a 1.1.2 jailbroken iphone using stealthsim with a UK sim card (not o2) in it. Am I able to upgrade to 1.1.3 without locking the phone and still be able to use the stealthsim ok?

Help, please…….
