Never the less, I agree with the other posts. Now that I have a daughter myself I can't even read CNN most of the time. I understand your point, but I'd rather see you guys leave it out of your blog than cover it in the way that you did. Dealing with tragedy through humor when something happens right in front of you is one thing, picking up a story from elsewhere and feeling duty-bound to post it in the way that it was is another thing. A baby girl that's viciously beaten, thrown across a room, and then left to die alone on the floor while her father continues playing -- until she's found by her 8-month-pregnant mother who asks why she isn't breathing...that doesn't sound like CrunchGear material to me... I know I'm sounding harsh, but it just really upset me.

I urge all to pray for her. If you do not pray offer a moment of silence.

I do feel bad for the little girl involved. And her family. But humor is the only way I can write about stuff like this and not lose my head.

Why did we cover it? Well, it's tech news. People going nutty over video games is actually on an increase and they get more immersive. To ignore the stories, well, that wouldn't be right.

I would prefer not to see this kind of story posted. I read "tech" news because it's more positive than "regular" news. If I want to see tragedy I'll watch the new on television.

then again, if crunchgear didn't cover this story, I probably would never have heard of it. and as for the tone, it's the only one they've got - it's a blog thing.

that being said, I hate living in a world where such things do happen.

This is an extremely saddening story. I have to agree with Cory, once again CrunchGear feels it necessary to treat a tragedy with less than full respect.

a) Why cover this story? and b) Why cover it with that tone? At best it showed poor taste.
