Do you really need a 16GB SDHC? Kingston thinks so.

Don’t get me wrong here. Having more capacity is always a plus, but 16GB of space?! I can barely fill up my 8GB SDHC and Kingston comes out with a 16GB Class 4 SDHC memory card. What does Class 4 mean? Well, the minimum data transfer rate on this is 4MB/s. Not too shabby. That’s about all you really need to know, too. It retails for $231.

Um… 16GB SDHC cards have been out for a while now. Class 4 is the slowest rated transfer speed BTW. Class 6 is for fast DSLR, HD video playback etc… SDHC cards can go up to 32GB max, which includes mini and micro SDHC cards.

Futhermore, Newegg has a 16GB SDHC card from A-DATA for only $64.99. Kingston is a ripoff!

16. . . 32. . . 64. . . 128. . . KEEP ‘EM COMING, I SAY! At the moment, a 16gb SDHC card looks like a brilliant addition to the 16gb Creative Zen. That’s a lot of storage for a device that small!

If you’re using them for video rather than still images (and your camcorder supports those capacities), then size absolutely matters…
