china.jpgHeaded out to China for the Olympics? Don’t forget your “I’m being watched by the State Police” T-shirt. Blogger Hu Jia posted this video of him and his wife under house arrest, showing the world how ham-handed — and frighteningly dangerous — a centralized, fearful authority can be. We have a lot of fun over here but it’s folks like these who remind us that freedom of press is privilege not to be taken for granted.

  • this should be a huge reminder to those who think that Islamic terrorism is the world’s biggest threat– the Chinese brand of communism is every bit as threatening and dangerous to those who love freedom– the United States once boycotted the Olympics for its choice of host nations (then-communist Soviet Union controlled Russia, 1980), and should do so this year (2008, Beijing), but due to business relations that USA and communist China have together, that is extremely unlikely……

  • Without the low cost labor force in China how can we enjoy so many fine gears here in the US?
