I never thought about it this way, but it seems we — us bunch of nerds — have slowly changed the porn landscape. Regina Lynn at Wired points out sites like AbbyWinters.com and Kink.com [feel free to cut and paste but rest assured NSFW] feature models who are a far cry from the pneumo-bots of yore or even the charming ladies of mainstream lad mags. The industry of image has diverged, leading us nerds down a path of pale, dark-haired young ladies with a certain post-Grad-school air.
My biggest question, however, is now that we’re all Facebooked and Twittered, will the porn industry suffer dilution? If people are so free with their information and, ahem, their winky parts, will this affect sales?

It may, only a little, affect sales. But here we’re talking quality. I’ve heard from some friends of mine (yeah, that’ll do) that the shaky, grainy handycams of said ladies in their bedrooms/bathrooms are no substitute or even close to matching well laid out, thoughtful scripts played by top of the line actors/actresses in overly extravagant settings. Just what I hear anyway…

yeah, but give those selfsame ladies a nice 720p digicam and some lighting and you might be in business. Let’s put it this way - compare the old RocketBoom to something like GeekBrief. It’s like watching public access vs. CNN. Content on the web, be it tech, humor, or, ahem, is only getting better.

Is what made up a “thoughful script” in the heyday of old school porn.
Nerds and the internet have changed porn but porn is still porn - now it is just easier for me to find barley legal hairy asian ladyboys blowing a horse than it was before the days of the internet and free TGP’s of every shape and size.
