Now this is an interesting concept we can’t believe we haven’t seen before. Well, we have a little bit, but not like this. USA’s zzzPhone lets you customize your next mobile phone like you might customize a computer: you choose a base model, then add the screen, camera, and other features as you see fit.
The dual-SIM, GSM handsets can accomidate cameras up to 7-Megapixels, 4GB of internal memory, TV tuners, Skype, and other hotness that you won’t find on most phones. They can run Windows Mobile or “equivalent” operating systems, whatever that means.
They start at $150, and are available for configuration now.

Awww man! looks kinda cool but all the upgrades are crazy expensuve and it runs Winmo!
Compared to other products this phone is already a better deal. I bought mine at an exclusive US retailer zzzmobilephone.com. Every feature on the $150 phone saved me over $500. See the comparison on the site. Put your own name on the phone even. Pass the word
OK marketing salesman, prove your point or stop bullshiting people
It smell like a scam, but who knows…just in case I started community site and waiting for first review… :-)
Hello Blogosphere,
I am Customizeaphone.com, a registered affiliate with zzzPhone, and in constant contact with the company. I can answer all your questions, and sell you the phones with a guarantee of service, and tech support. To answer some of the questions from above, the reason the owner has those domain names registered is because he is a massive business man, and this is only one of his many business’s. The phone is not running Windows Mobile as said originally, rather is running a proprietary linux OS. BIG NEWS NOT YET RELEASED! We are working to release all the phones with Android (http://www.openhandsetalliance.com/android_overview.html) as the primary OS and will be available in approx 45 days. We have just hired 20 additional engineers and programmers to make that a reality, and also to develop Android apps specifically for the phone.
To continue answering the questions from above, the site is still under development, and is now cross compatible.
There is now an option to remove the cameras on the phone bringing the lowest possible configuration to $138.
There is also an option to upgrade the battery from 1800 to 2200mAh. This brings the life of the battery to be longer then the Nokia N95.
As far as changing the body is concerned, do not despair, we have future models in development, and a full touch screen option is among them. Feel free to contact me at info@customizeaphone.com for more information, and visit my website at http://www.customizeaphone.com for more details.

Buyer’s beware..I have order my phone since February and still didn’t receive my order…I have emails to prove that this company is a scam..bloggers can review all they want about this product but they are no consumers and will get better treatments….I am in the process of cancelling my order but there are no replies…paypal cancelled my complaint…now i am trying another approach…
What other approach are you trying? The only approach I can take to get my money back would be through a lawyer.
>It takes a while to receive the phones, but they are real. Real and really good, believe me. These people started too early their business and they didn’t make sure they could fullfill all the orders.. so they had problems with the factory. New models (phones bought after 1st of April) are produced at SIM Technology (they manufacture for Nokia, Palm and some more i don’t remember) and come a lot faster.
Trust me.. my order took 1 month, but i’m a happy customer. Any doubts, just e-mail me! ;)

I placed my order 02/08/08 and was told that it shipped out but it hadn’t the tracking info was invalid. Once I finally got in touch with someone they said the company had factory problems and delivery problems so there was a new design and shippments were going out with in the week. That was March. It is May now and I still don’t have mty phone. I have sent e-mails to every e-mail address on the website and to the information from Pay Pal but can’t recieve any justice. All I want is my money back and they wont give it back. Pay Pal only gives 45 days to do a dispute so I can’t get my money back throuh them even though I have e-mails from the ZZZPhone company telling me shippments are going out and I did speak with two people that said the same thing. I’ve sent several e-mails and messages but no replys back. IT’S A SCAM. If it wasn’t a scam when I spoke to the man today from the company today he wouldn’t have hung up on me because I was trying to explain what happened and what Pay Pal said. ZZZPHONE COMPANY IS A SCAM DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM.
As for as I know ,all of the present web sites that provide for captiioning on cell phones require following: Enter website; enter I.D., enter password;ent4r number call from; enter number called; When my phone rings answer the phone. Rediculus steps for the deaf and hard of hearing. Deaf need only captioning; many hard of hearing need both sound and captionng as they understand some pople by not others depending on the quallity of their voices. I recommend touch screens for them and many of the elderly. Many elderly like me have shaking hands and miskeep the too small buttons requiring excessive correction to send or text calls.
I recommend the folowing: Cell phones with full size touch screen a little larger than current cell phones; the scrolling moves too fast on any small screen making it difficult to read all before it scrolls away; ennergize captioning to connect to captionnng website by touching spot on screen; enter phone number called or get from list; touch spot on screen to send; touch a spot of screen to close call.
Program the following into phone: Web site address; my phone number; numbers used regularly; add bells and whistles as desired.
Fix home phones and cell phones so that when a deaf or hard of hearing person calls another, both will automatically have captionng.
I don’t have a cell phone as I cannot understand on them without captioning.
I have asked Sprint and Apple to provide such phone and get no satisfactary response.
