The MacBook Air runs Windows Vista slightly slower than other ultraportable laptops. PC World benchmarked Apple’s tiny laptop and got a score of 61. To put those numbers in perspective, the Lenovo ThinkPad X61 got an 86, which amounts to a 5 percent “actual” speed difference, says PC World. So not only is the Air not the most fully featured laptop out there, it’s also not the fastest. (That said, the Air did best the Fujitsu LifeBook P7230 by 29 points.)
Yet another reason to think long and head whether or not the MacBook Air is for you.

Hmmm… well it’s running Vista just fine for me…

I notice there’s loads of publisher reviews of people installing Vista, but I’d love to find out how many people are actually using it as their main Macbook Air operating system day to day.
Working as my main computer running Vista and love it. Flawless so far. I run a super high speed office with tons of multitasking. Using the solid state version and it does help.
I’ve had Vista running on my new MBA for over a week now (clean instal). Working fine without a single hitch – would have liked to know how the battery life compares for the same sort of use in OSX and Vista – currently I’m getting a about 3.5hours while actively using BT and WiFi and screen at 50%. Would you say that’s below par for Vista? Would I get more like 4.5 hours with OSX?
