Its very frustrating the first time you get it, think I would crack up if it happened more than 3 times, but it is fixable if you have the righ information.

I got my Xbox 360 in December of 2007. I only play on the weekends (except during the summer) and when I play, I play for only an hour and then I let it rest. I usually do not start playing again until 30 minutes or more of letting it cool down. With this playing schedule, is there a chance that I will get the infamous Red Ring of Death?

New developments! 2 of my 3 Xbox 360's, both motherboards were warped downward. Solution, wrap 9 penny's in a square shape in electrical tape, make sure no copper is exposed, go below the motherboard, place the rig underneath the protective insulation where the GPU is located. This helps with contact with the GPU, in some cases may fix the problem.

My xBox 360 died from RRoD but I brought it back to life! I sent it back to Microsoft 5 times and they returned it with a partial fix that lasted a few weeks each time. Then I came across an xBox 360 repair kit that fixed my Red Ring of Death - permanently.

Hi,

It doesn't matter whether its 16% or 32%. All it matters is now our Xbox 360 is dead. Including Mine :(

I fixed my Xbox with some information I found online. For the past two weeks it works fine. Hence I thought of sharing the information with you people and created a webpage on the same. This webpage deals mainly with fixing your Xbox 360.

You can do it in your home by just making some adjustments in the X-Clamps. It works. Here is the full details on how to do it.

http://www.squidoo.com/xboxredlightfix

I'm sure it will be very useful to fix your Xbox 360.

Cheers
John

Placing pennys on the chip is a much better solution, here is why. The Center of the chip is raised just a little bit more than the outsides of it, there is room to expand around the core. The solders do not melt, they soften to a soft state. When this occurs, the extreme heat on the chip causes it to warp making each side of the chip move upward, stretching the solder to the point of breaking. Placing objects, in this case penny's, on the chip to fill space in between the chip and the heat sink will keep if from warping and breaking solders. Once you do this, you will not have to worry about the chip coming loose, just because the solders are soft, they are not going to break just because they are hot, they do not melt off either. The solders being soft also doesn't effect data transfer. This is very easy to understand and does not require much effort.

Placing objects, in this case penny’s, on the chip to fill space in between the chip and the heat sink will keep if from warping and breaking solders. Once you do this, you will not have to worry about the chip coming loose, just because the solders are soft, they are not going to break just because they are hot, they do not melt off either. The solders being soft also doesn’t effect data transfer. This is very easy to understand and does not require much effort.
