Fujitsu-Siemens debuts new home servers called Scaleo
by Matt Hickey on February 19, 2008

gallery 47 10 14684This is the Scaleo. While is sounds like a derogatory term for an emotionless ex it’s really a home server, coming in two configurations, a 500GB model with 3 open drive bays and a 2×500GB model with 2 open drive bays, called the 1500 and 1900 respectively.

They both share Celeron processors, 512MB DDR2 RAM, 256MB for flash storage (likely for firmware) and eSATA drive bays.

But these guys are expensive. Roughly $800 for the 1500 and $900 for the 1900. If you can’t do better than this by building your own, it might be worth a look, but if these are going to make any sales in America, the prices have to be far more reasonable.
