So there’s this rumor spinning around that Microsoft wants to buy Epic. Since it didn’t get Yahoo!, it’s got a little extra spending money, and it would be a great addition to the Xbox group. GamePro reported MS might be willing to offer up to $2 billion.

Epic’s VP Mark Rein blogged that he hadn’t heard the rumors much or read the article in GamePro about it, but was concerned about the price tag. “If they’re going to make predictions about us selling Epic, we would prefer if they started at $2 billion.”

Sadly, he’s joking, there’s no really good information here, but it’s good to see Epic taking things with humor.
