The rumors are true, I play D&D. Not as much as I’d like, I’m a busy blogger, but I whip it out when I get the time and a few like minded friends. It’s fun to play the game with girls and drink beer, trust me.
Sadly, the days of paper and dice are likely going away forever. Wizards of the Coast leaked these screenshots of the forthcoming online version of D&D to Boing Boing, and I must say it looks quite impressive.
The game will have tools for Dungeonmasters and players alike; gameplay is said to be just like you’re around a table with dice, but remote and online. I can’t wait to try it out.

I bet it’s Windows only.

Um … no. This is the most common misconception about D&D 4th Edition, but it’s just silly. The online utility is an added bonus for people who like to play together but who are in geographically disparate locations. But D&D will remain a tabletop/pen, paper and dice RPG.
According to Bill Slaviscek, Wizards of the Coast R&D Director: “We love the analog world. We love physical products and interacting in person with our gaming groups. We love books and miniatures and dice and dungeon tiles and maps and frosty beverages and snacks and … well, everything related to sitting around a table and playing D&D with our friends. It’s not only what we do professionally, it’s our hobby and our passion.
These things are not going away.”
