Bungie not giving up on Halo 3, wants to kick COD 4’s ass

Just because Bungie is out on its own doesn’t mean they’re abandoning their baby, Halo 3, just yet. A new map pack is due in the Spring, but they’re getting their ass beat by COD 4 on the Xbox Live charts.
“We have a lot of awesome new content coming up. We’re not walking away from Halo 3,” Bungie’s community lead Brian Jarrard told Eurogamer last week at GDC.
“We have a group of people at the studio that are just focused on keeping the game going strong for the foreseeable future, so I think we’ll continue to evolve and I expect there to be a back-and-forth [between us and COD4] for a while.”
The Bungie folks are COD fans, too. Let’s see what happens. I don’t think I’ve played H3 in a couple months.

Halo 3 sucks ass. They better release that new content for free. The maps they released with the game were aweful and for them to charge for the last map pack was criminal. The fact that you have to press a freakin’ button to talk to your friends is crap too. I will not play that unoriginal heap of shit again if they don’t fix that. Halo I was awesome because it was original and different from everything out there. Halo II and III were giant letdowns in my opinion. I am pissed I wasted my money. This is a perfect example of developers resting on their laurels.
Look at GOW still as high as 4th after all this time. Even with all the problems it has it still is fun to play. I loves me some Call of Dookie IV and can’t wait for GOW II. Word!

I’ve been playing GOW for the last couple weeks. It’s the only shooter game that I never get sick of. I got sick of Halo 3 halfway through.

Mike, why would even buy halo III if you though the second was a letdown? Plus, COD4 and GOW both charged for their map-packs too. Bungie lets theirs go for free after (about) a year.
BTW, the reason you have to press the button to talk is to reduce lag and the amount of screamers and unecessary messages (such as someone breathing or echoes from the TV)
You didnt love the original halo because of the ultimately flawed pistol did you?
On the bright side, Cold Storage will be free.
