I saw a concept like this a while ago that was considerably slicker, but was of course just a CGI rendering. This is much more real and much more steampunk. Looks pretty awesome, in addition to being useful and interesting as well.

I like to know how much processor each of my applications is using, why not extend that obsession to everyday objects? Of course, this thing is not actually buyable, it is a freely available blueprint for making your own, DIY-style. I confess that I am not handy at all and am deathly afraid of resistors, so hopefully one of my electrician friends (I’m looking at you, Jake) can help me out. Or a generous reader.
