I don’t know Phil Harrison, but let’s face it; how well do you really know anybody? In that sprit, congratulations to my good friend Phil Harrison for being named the president of Infogrames.
Harrison recently left Sony and will be working at Infogrames to implement social gaming initiatives and to turn the company (which owns over 50-percent of Atari) around. Says Harrison,
“This is the perfect time to join Infogrames and help shape the future of Atari - one of the industry’s legendary brands. As the game business moves rapidly online I believe we have an outstanding opportunity to create amazing network game and community experiences for players the world over.”
You can do it, Phil. You can do it.

I for one thinks he can. Infogrames/Atari have a lot of interesting things for them and Phil has the right vision for games. publishers need to understand that competing on “megaproductions” is pointless. the first one who gets social gaming right will redefine the industry for the few years to come. He couldn’t turn Sony around but he’ll be able to prove his point at Infogrames. Go Phil!
