A couple weeks ago, the above photo was spotted on the official PlayStation website before being pulled down. It led to the rumor that the PS3 would be getting in-game messaging via the Cross Media Bar (XMB). That has now been confirmed by the head of Sony Computer Entertainment UK, Ray Maguire. It’ll be delivered through a firmware upgrade (version 2.4 to be exact) some time this summer. So there you have it.
