XM Led Zeppelin going on a break for some of this year

The Led Zeppelin channel on XM will go silent in two days. Once Friday, March 7 rolls around, XM channel 59 will go on hiatus until later in the year. XM doesn’t say why the channel is going away, but it sorta stinks because summer is right around the corner, meaning that your local classic rock station will ignore everything but “Stairway” for months on end. The band wrote other songs, you know. That’s what made XM LED so good, there was a decent variety in there.

And no, no specific re-launch date was even hinted out, just later in 2008.

  • Thank you for posting this–I listend right up until the last SECOND, on March 6, 2008. The song ended (forget which one) and the station went “Hssssss….stcht!” and that was it–it started running endless promo loops for other XM programming.

WTF? Why? When it is returning.

MORE TO THE POINT: Does anyone know of an online source for Zep music, similar to XM’s Ch. 59?

    Thanks.

  • What the hell happen to the Zep station? So you take the Hammer and leave the Mallet! Without the Led there would be not contemporary ROCK!

  • Me, too. I would like to know what happened to #39, and is it coming back this year (2009)?
