IF and WHEN EA buys Take-Two, the makers of such classics as GTA and the rest of the GTA series will be well taken care of. In an SEC filing, Take-Two executives who are flopped out on their flabby white butts will get 1.5 times their salary and bonus for up to 18 months if they are fired without cause. Now it’s up to EA to get all Michael Clayton on Chairman Strauss Zelnick and CEO Ben Feder and fire them with cause. Presumably the grunts pushing polygons will receive the same deal.

Note to EA: These are not guys you kill. These are guys you pay off.

  • Is anyone else terrified as to what it will mean for the GTA Franchise when EA games takes it over. EA has a terrible reputation of turning games into cheap franchises where they pump out a new one every year, and GTA isnt a game that could do well with that type of strategy. It simply needs massive amounts of time and effort put forward.

Plus I dont see EA games as the right company for a solid Mature game.

    • It would be suicide for them to blow the GTA franchise. I suspect they’ll keep on the key folks and let them work in piece. Only the EA lawyers will worry much about the Mature rating.

  • Though I think it’d be interesting to see the merge happen…I just don’t want it to.

But it’s good to see Take-Two Take-Care of their Taken-Employees….I know, I’m lame.

This is called a ‘poison pill’ used as a tactic when a company is in a hostile take over
