Yup, the rumors about an updated Airport Express were true. Apple adds 802.11n to the diminutive wireless router while the price holds steady at $99.

Note that you can find (draft) 802.11n routers for less than $100, but, I don’t know, maybe you have a thing for the white plastic Apple uses.

  • it’s not the router you’re paying for… it’s the airtunes, usb printer sharing, and dead-simple wds configuration that makes it worth the extra $$.

  • If you bought an AirportExpress recently, you can “trade” it in for the upgraded one, minus a restocking fee, right? Where can one find the length of the grace-period?

I bought an AirportExpress on March 9th, and now I wish I had waited a little longer.

    • You have 14 days for a return – so if you hurry you can still make it. And, if you ask nicely, you may not have to pay a restocking fee.

      • Thanks. I called Apple to find that out, that it’s 14 calendar days. And the guy on the phone made no mention of the restocking fee. He did for some reason initially think that the now-obsolete one was $79.

Anyway, now I’m glad I didn’t buy it a week ago.
