Military going forward with brain-controlled weaponry

augcog boeing

We’ve seen mind-reading game controllers, but the military is still searching for the perfect mind-controlled weapon, and is spending big money to find it.

At issue is that different parts of the brain can do the same thing at the same time, so targeting the specific centers is difficult. In addition, some actions require parts of the brain to work in tandem, and that can be hard to track as well.

The new systems being developed also track eye movement, to see where ocular focus is. In other words, it tracks what you’re tracking by watching you track it.

Don’t worry, cyborg super-robot troopers are still a few years off, but the technology is on the move.

That picture is really cool. I can’t put my finger on it but it just looks like something that would be on the cover of Time magazine or something like that. Kudos to whoever found that pic, where did you get it?

I want a brain device so I can change the channels on my tv. Maybe one that senses my excitement level and changes it for me. On second thought, that just may result in me being forced to watch American Idol, Grey’s Anatomy and Cashmere Mafia.
