Sidewinder is one of my favorite classic multiplayer levels in the Halo series, and a re-vamped version is on its way to Halo 3 as downloadable content. Called Avalanche, the arctic-themed level retains the same basic layout and toys of the original, but adds a few fun gameplay elements.

Notable changes include the removal of the main connecting tunnel to keep the battle in the field instead of underground, more cannons, and the loss of ladders.

It will cost 800MS points when it comes out in April, so it’s a little pricey, but if you’re tired of the built-in levels and want to frag somewhere new, it’s not a bad price.

  • The problem with buying maps is that no one else buys them.
It sucks that I have to go to my special little area called “People who were dumb enough to pay for the last map pack.” and play with the other 25 people worldwide.
