Sony will not charge for VAIO Fresh Start

We just got this in from Sony regarding the Fresh Start program.
“Starting March 22, Sony will offer Fresh Start free of charge. We want VAIO users to have the best experience possible with our PCs, and we believe Fresh Start will help ensure that happens right out-of-the-box.”

I would be very comfortable if this became the norm! But does the added software help subsidize the low costs of some laptops? Or do they just use that extra money to make jackets out of bacon and use slices of bacon to slip into strippers G-strings?
For the record - I hate that extra software and delete it immediately! Mommy!
