Success! NTT DoCoMo has successfully tested a Super 3G system out in the field and they managed downlink speeds at 250Mbps. Testing on the Super 3G system that consists of four MIMO antennas has been going on since February just south of Tokyo. The technology should be rolled out next year. Doug and I will grab more details on this field test next week at CTIA.

If you’re unsure what Super 3G is then read on, folks.

Psyche! Super 3G is essentially the next evolution of HSDPA and HSUPA. It features low-latency data transmission and high spectrum efficiency.
