as usual, the hype does not match the reality

my pc is aobut 3 years old, not current but not ancient with fairly comon hardware

ubuntu 7.04 and 7.10 live cds' both boot and run with no problem

8.04 and 8.10 do not

they dont recognize my graphics/video
S3

remember, 7.x was fine

go figure
