WrestleMania XXIV airs this Sunday on pay-per-view and will be the first WrestleMania broadcast in high-definition. They’ve jacked up the price this year, so if you want to see Randy “The One Man Dynasty” (wtf?) Orton defend the title in HD be prepared to fork over $70. (The standard def version is $55.)
In all likelihood, I think I’ll just grab the torrent the next day. I’m not made of $70 pay-per-views.

You forgot to mention the Mayweather vs Big Show match.
It’s worth forgetting, Peter Ha. Mayweather has, by all accounts, taken his $20M payday and turned from a one man news conference into some kind of Allen Iverson at a press conference juggernaut of rambling non-sequitors. I got all hyped up after that first run-in where May actually made Show bleed from the nose. But it’s been downhill since there. Also, WWE apparently wanted this to be a tag match of some sort but then that other wrestler got hurt (Mysterio?).
Anyway, I hope I’m wrong and I hope Mayweather goes off the reservation in a good way in front of all those rabid HD fans …
WTF, indeed?! Is this newsworthy? Who gives a flying (expletive) about Wrestling pay-per-view in HD or standard def? Only a complete moron would pay $70 or $55 for this crap!
Do people still watch wrestling? Is Rick Flair still the champ? Does Hulk Hogan still want kids to drink their milk and take thier vitamans?
Shouldn’t that be XXIV?
Wow, you’re right. XIV was Shawn Michaels/Austin. The funny thing is I really looked at the headline, “Is that right, ‘XIV’?” Thanks.

Wrestlemania is the superbowl of wrestling.
If you aren’t “made” of $70 dollar ppv’s then get the regular one.
It’s not like they have jacked up the price too much, considering the technology you are going to be using to watch it.
Real fans would get it…at least this one.
Then again, maybe crunchgear isn’t the right site to post wrestling data or criticize the price of WWE ppv’s.
