Yes, I noticed the same thing one day when I was at SXSW with the new MBP. Only happened the one day and seems fine now. Needless to say I was not happy at the time.
I had this happen on a new Dell XPS M1330 right out of the box. The technician that came out said that it was pressure points on the screen during manufacturing and certain screens were damaged. Mine had exactly that pattern… like every other LED was out. Was not a good start for a brand new laptop!
Yes, in fact happened yesterday, just once, when waking from sleep (MBP Penryn). Random. Putting it right back to sleep and waking again righted things. I’m kind of like that, too.
Same here!!! I got mine from the 5th Ave in NY store late March, and I just opened my new Macbook Pro.
Today is the first day of my new MBP that is.
The same thing happened after having it woken up. I managed to take a snapshot of the screen with the stripes with my mobile phone. I put it on sleep mode and woken it up after a few seconds. Everything seemed to be ok. Don’t ask how do I feel about it. On the very first day of my new MBP life. :(

That only happens when you surf the web looking at the website of the evil empire.
Had you been looking at pron your screen would appear just fine.

I have a hard time believing that every other LED died simultaneously and it’s not something else. Try restarting and zapping the PRAM.
