The DVR565HD from Vivitar should give Sanyo a run for its money. This 1080i video camera has HDMI out and records at 720p at 30 frams a second. No price or availability and I actually forgot that Vivitar still existed.

  • Am I missing something here? It records at 720p but upscales to 1080i for output? That doesn’t sound very good to me. I’d rather see a 1080i video camera record at 1080i – no scaling.

Please correct me if I am just foolish and missing something.

    • no. that’s what they said in the specs. sounds dopey to me, as well, but it think what they’re trying to say is that it “outputs” to 1080i TVs the same way hooking up your old VCR to a plasma “outputs” to 1080i. Once this thing gets official we’ll know more.

  • Dang. Looks great. I want one now.
