Did a little fondling of a prototype device from Qualcomm that’ll be hitting the market soon at under $300. It’s basically a super beefed-up Windows Mobile machine similar in size to the Nokia N810 (and with a QWERTY keyboard to match). The big feature is the 1GHz processor that it’ll have and its ability to play HD movies.

Devices like this will be here the second half of this year. Hit the jump for more specs.

  • That looks freakin sweet man. For under $300 you say? I couldn’t make out what she said in the video. But thats basically a frackin macbook air with phone capabilities… but Windows Mobile sucks! I can’t wait to hear more about this.

  • Sounds a little too good to be true. Can’t be a phone for that price, is my guess, and probably wouldn’t include GPS either. Maybe those will be options on a base price of $300?

Having gotten rid of the N810 that I had because of the OS, I think this is something I’d definitely look at. If it can deliver what the N810 couldn’t in terms of browsing speed and productivity applications, and sync easily with desktop and Exchange, I’d buy one in a heartbeat.

  • Will this be a voip machine and is there such a device that has software packages to do business reports from with Bluetooth for printing?
