@ vivek
What the author is saying is that all the functions a phone will ever need are already around in phones. Just not every new phone has all of them.

And this is the exact reason I love my old siemens M55. My old one started acting up a week or 2 ago, so I bought a used one on an auction site. Which apparently previously belonged to a 12 yo girl who had sex with a 13 yo boy. People should really be more careful with their personal information.

This article hits the right spot. Old phones would only melt my brain (instead of melting my brain AND exploding in my pants).

The more phones do, the more you are expected to do too.

Phones as in just to make calls are perfect but I think the author misses the point that phones are getting used for much more than just making calls. Texting is new to US but becoming widely popular. Local maps, traffic report, search for nearby coffee shop, directions to friends house, reply to email, watch the funny youtube video, send a message to friends on myspace/facebook are all expectations out of the phone.

Is there any phone in market which has GPS, camera, push email, awesome browser, video streaming, XM radio all in one? I am waiting for one like that and till I find it, I will keep my eyes open for new models.
