Rather like bittorrent with a central tracker putting you in touch with other peers. They then send you data which your client reconstructs into an ongoing stream. If they work well enough, there's no buffering and it's pretty smooth. Quality v.poor compared to what you'd get on normal tv or an after-the-event d/l on bittorrent but it's sports, so it's the immediacy that you need. Yeah, they’re p2p based.
